Kinmel Beat 3
Beat Description
A beat of one and a half miles of mostly double bank fishing on the Kinmel Estate, in the lower part of the beat the fishing is left bank only from the weir just above Pont Meredydd and VCAC does not have any fishing on the right bank below the bridge and on the left bank, the field immediately above Beat 2 is not VCAC.
Beware! There is occasionally a dangerous Holstein bull in this (or the next) field.
How to get there:
From Denbigh and St Asaph, and proceed as for Beat 2 but at the cross roads, (the entrance to Beat 2 is the lane straight ahead) take the right turn and follow the lane without turning off. For the bottom of the beat after about 2 miles take the fork on the left to Pont Meredydd Caravan Park and park on the left of the road with the farm machinery. To reach the top of the beat, ignore the left fork to Pont Meredydd and carry on to the converted chapel. Turn left and follow the road down the hill to Pont y Gwyddel. Cross the bridge, enter the field immediately on the left and park just inside the field gate on the side of the track or you can take your car down to the Sheepdip Pool and park out of the way near the bridge. There is parking available adjacent to most of the pools for the less active members.
