River Elwy - Kinmel Beat 1

Beat Description

A beat of just over half a mile of right hand bank fishing only. We share this beat with one Wirral Game rod.

How to get there:

From Denbigh take the B5382 to Henllan then right for Llanefydd. Just past the Hawk & Buckle take the next right, the second left followed by first right and down to Pont y Ddol. Parking is in the double gate entrance on the left 50 yards before the bridge or on the right just over the bridge. Climb over the gate and follow the hedge to the bottom of the beat. The best pool is the Black Pool which is just into the second field, and immediately upstream of the pipe bridge. The beat ends at the top of this field.

From St Asaph take the B5381 via the St Asaph Business Park towards Betws-yn-Rhos until you see a large signpost opposite the gate to Bodelwyddan Park. Turn left and then immediately left again and continue into the village of Cefn Meiriadog. In the village take the first right and then follow the lane for about a mile to a crossroads (the right hand turn is a rough lane) turn left and continue about a mile down to Pont-y-Ddol. Cross the bridge and 100 yards further on you will see a double width iron gate on the right.

Parking:

Park well to the right hand side in the gateway allowing room for vehicle access.
