I hope that you are keeping well during these difficult times. You will be aware from the media that angling has become an approved exercise activity. I am pleased to inform you that from 9.00 a.m. on Wednesday 20th May, most of our fishing waters will be open subject to the Welsh Government ‘lockdown’ and NRW guidelines presently in force for angling in Wales. From yesterday this means that anglers in Wales may drive locally to go fishing as part of their daily exercise.
The Association officers have been working tirelessly on your behalf. All our riparian owners have been informed of our decision to re-open.
Further information accompanies this letter (click on the links below) and it must be read thoroughly and the guidance followed as a condition of association membership:
Current Welsh Government/NRW rules and regulations.
Clwyd Federation of Angling Clubs Guide to Safe Angling.
Please do read and act upon all guidance prior to fishing and abide by the advice.
I look forward to seeing VCAC members back out fishing again and hearing your fishing tales.
Stay safe and tight lines!
